David Fleiss, MD, FACS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries and arthritis surgery at CHW Cares in Washington Heights, Manhattan. He is dedicated to helping New York City patients overcome pain and experience a better quality of life.
Dr. Fleiss earned his Bachelor of the Arts at Cornell University in 1966, where he was a Telluride and General Motors Scholar. He then went on to earn a Master's degree from New York University in 1968. In 1975, Dr. Fleiss earned his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he graduated with honors in medicine and surgery.
Subsequently, Dr. Fleiss completed his general surgery internship at St. Luke's Hospital Center in New York City. He then completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at The Hospital for Special Surgery and a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center, both located in New York City.
Dr. Fleiss is an active member of the medical community and has contributed to several presentations and numerous publications that have appeared in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
To stay current with the latest developments in his field, Dr. Fleiss is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Academy of Sports Physicians, and the International Spinal Injection Society.
